Pavillon de Trianon, Bordeaux Supérieur 2019

A super high quality everyday claret with top notch credentials, from the former owner of Cheval Blanc. Dark ruby colour with an aromatic nose offering black fruit and a touch of herbs with spices. The palate has round tannins, ripe dark berries, great acidity and structure with a hint of spice and chocolate on the finish.

The 14.5 hectares estate is located south west of St Emilion, and since 2000 has belonged to Dominique Hébrard, former co-owner of Château Cheval Blanc, which had been in his family since 1832.

Dominique was a member of its board between 1991 and 1999. and was responsible for the vineyard management, winemaking, and marketing. Since his ownership of Château Trianon, he has undertakeb its re-organisation and renovation as well as the development of its brand.

What a wonderful, classic St Emilion house wine for the claret drinkers in the house.  The blend is 80% merlot, 20% cabernet sauvignon. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 9 months in 100% French Oak. Classic Sunday lunch territory.
