Domaine Courtault-Michelet is located in the village of Lignorelles, a few kilometers northwest of Chablis. This tiny village sits atop a plateau, with most vineyards facing south or southwest, allowing the grapes to ripen slightly earlier than in much of the Chablis region.
The domaine was established in 2019 through the amalgamation of Domaine Jean-Claude Courtault and Domaine Stéphanie et Vincent Michelet. Today, it spans 28 hectares of vineyards across the Chablis villages of Beine, Lignorelles, Villy, and Maligny.
Even young this wine is already open. It will be ideal for tasting when it has been aged for 2 years. It may be cellared for 7 to 8 years.
Nose : Powerful fruits aromas ending on a vanilla note
Palate : Round and expressive with fine minerality. This wine is well balanced between power and delicacy. Ripe fruits and fresh almond aromas ending on toasted bread notes.
Domaine Courtault Michelet was established through the union of two winemaking families: the Courtaults and the Michelets. In the charming village of Lignorelles, northwest of Chablis, the estate's origins date back to 1984, when Jean-Claude Courtault and his wife, Marie-Chantal, purchased land in the Chablis region and began cultivating vineyards. By 1995, they were dedicating themselves to wine production. In 2007, their daughter, Stéphanie Courtault, and her husband, Vincent Michelet, joined the business. The couple took over the management of the estate in 2019, continuing the family legacy with new ideas.
