This is a great Chablis representing tradition and modernity. Fresh and refined, this 2022 vintage showcases the union and leadership of Stéphanie Courtault and Vincent Michelet, reflecting both their expertise and the unique terroir of the region. With its potential for ageing, Chablis is a wine that benefits from having a couple of cases on hand: one to enjoy now and others to cellar for a few years.
From 60 years old vines on Chablis’ famed Kimmeridgian soil, it lends itself to the earthy, flinty, mineral undertones in this wine. With a crisp, dry profile, it bursts with vibrant citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon, complemented by fresh, juicy flavours of melon and apple.
Domaine Courtault Michelet was established through the union of two winemaking families: the Courtaults and the Michelets. In the charming village of Lignorelles, northwest of Chablis, the estate's origins date back to 1984, when Jean-Claude Courtault and his wife, Marie-Chantal, purchased land in the Chablis region and began cultivating vineyards. By 1995, they were dedicating themselves to wine production. In 2007, their daughter, Stéphanie Courtault, and her husband, Vincent Michelet, joined the business. The couple took over the management of the estate in 2019, continuing the family legacy with new ideas.
