Wines from Domaine Kientzler strike a fine balance between tradition and modernity. Across the range, the estate’s signature style is marked by purity, minerality, and a refined dry elegance. This approachable yet characterful Alsatian Pinot Blanc delivers superior entry-level quality, outshining many blended Auxerrois/Pinot Blanc offerings.
Fascinating and expressive, bright aromas of green apple, pear, and lime is layered over flinty, honeyed, gentle brioche-like notes with a hint of caramel. Dry and energetic on the palate, this wine is mineral-driven yet graceful, offering both precision and versatility. Best enjoyed well-chilled and within five years from vintage.
Established in 1866, Domaine Kientzler is a historic family estate deeply woven into the fabric of Ribeauvillé’s winegrowing heritage. Now led by fifth- and sixth-generation winemakers Thierry and Eric Kientzler, the domaine remains a pillar of Alsace viticulture. The estate has been passed from father to son since Dominique-Alphonse Kientzler first inherited the family vineyards in 1866. Later in 1895, he co-founded Ribeauvillé’s first wine cooperative while balancing viticulture with his grocery business.
Today, the domaine cultivates vineyards across Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr, Bergheim, and Hunawihr, including esteemed Grand Cru parcels in Geisberg, Kirchberg, and Osterberg.
