The Chablis is universally celebrated for its elegance and refreshing qualities, making it a standout choice when perusing a wine menu. Domaine Ventoura’s Chablis is rather special, as its flavour profile expresses the region’s unique Kimmeridgian soils, and additionally, its subtle oak ageing offers a refined interpretation on the classic chablis.
Crisp, fresh, and minerally, this Chablis elegantly showcases the stoney, flinty characteristics reflecting the region’s unique Kimmeridgian soils. These hallmark traits are complemented by notes of green apple and ripe pear, with a subtle oak influence. A long finish, lingering zestiness and a touch of saline enhances its refreshing profile.
In the village of Fontenay-près-Chablis, Domaine Ventoura was established in 1953 by Auguste Ventoura, who began cultivating Chardonnay vines and selling the grapes to local cooperatives. In 2009, his grandson, Thomas Ventoura, took over the family business, and later, in 2013, Thomas had transitioned the domaine to bottling and selling wines under the Ventoura family name. Today, Domaine Ventoura specialises in producing Petit Chablis, Chablis, and Premier Cru wines.
