Folli Benato Barbera d'Asti 2023

This yummy Barbera is an easy-drinking, vibrant style, fermented and aged in stainless steel. It is medium bodied with a light grip and full of juicy blackberry, cherry and plum.

Barbera has long filled-in the low slopes and valleys of Northern Italy. It’s considered a lesser wine to Nebbiolo and, therefore, doesn’t earn the best grape-growing real estate (such as south-facing slopes on hills above the ‘nebbia’ or fog).

Despite its lowly position, Barbera is the quintessential ‘wine of the people,’ it’s meant to be enjoyed young. I have tasted alot and this bottle offers incredible finesse and is a brilliant example of this sometimes overlooked grape.
