Wines from northern Italy never cease to impress, and at Whitfield Wines, we are looking more towards this unique region for delicious wines. Alto Adige’s Alpine terroir offers a distinctive elegance and mineral precision. This Chardonnay is a must for fans of fresh, vibrant, and terroir-driven whites. Offering remarkable quality for the price, it also holds strong appeal for short- to medium-term cellaring.
This finely crafted, unoaked Chardonnay offers clarity, freshness, and Alpine precision—showcasing the variety in its purest mountain expression. Intense tropical fruit and white floral aromas lead into a palate where ripe fruit is balanced by vibrant acidity and a refined mineral edge. Grown on calcareous clay and dolomitic soils, it captures its Alpine terroir with elegance and approachability.
Founded in 1893, Cantina Andriano is South Tyrol’s oldest wine cooperative and the first in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, sitting south- to southeast-facing slopes beneath Mount Gantkofel. Since 2008, it has partnered with nearby Cantina Terlano, with Andriano’s grapes vinified by Terlano’s renowned winemaker, Rudi Kofler.
