This Meursault climat, Au Murger de Monthelie, is located at the borders of three appellations: Meursault, Monthelie and Auxey-Duresses. Its name refers to the piles of stones around the vines. Sout-west facing, this plot is situated at 250 meters altitude and lies on shallow soil, especially in the upper part of the plot where limestone slabs can quickly come to the surface. The vines, of the Chardonnay variety, were planted in 1929, on an area of just under 0.74 acres.
The Meursault Au Murger de Monthelie is distinguished by its pale gold robe with notes of yellow fruits and white flowers on the nose. The palate combines richness and freshness, with volume and a beautiful length. The estate produce only approximately 1200 bottles of this cuvée.
We love this Meursault - it is a vibrant, full-bodied white Burgundy with bright citrus notes, crisp acidity, and a subtle backbone of oak.
Already excellent when young, this wine reveals itself even better between 3 and 15 years of age. Serve at a temperature between 11 and 13°C, accompanied, for example, by poultry in a cream sauce.
