Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot is widely regarded as one of Burgundy’s most accomplished white-wine producers, combining the precision of modern élevage with deep roots in Côte de Beaune tradition. As a former winemaker at Leflaive, Boillot brought with him an exacting approach that has made the domaine a favourite among sommeliers and collectors, with wines appearing frequently on top restaurant lists in London, Paris and New York.
His 2023 Meursault is a superb example of why the estate commands such respect: it balances richness and purity with exceptional clarity of fruit. Ripe orchard notes and gentle citrus are framed by discreet oak, while a firm mineral line gives the wine tension and definition. The result is a Meursault of generosity but also restraint—polished, finely structured and unmistakably from a master of the style. Perfect for refined drinking now or mid-term cellaring.
Appearance: Bright mid-lemon with subtle green highlights, signalling clarity and freshness.
Nose: Ripe white-fleshed fruit (nectarine, green apple), candied citrus peel and delicate white flowers. Underlying hints of hazelnut and soft buttered brioche from gentle oak/lees.
Palate: Rounded and creamy texture with generous orchard fruit flavours, layered over a firm mineral spine. Sweet wood spices combine with chalky minerality and a refined, tensile structure.
Finish: Long and persistent, with a crisp mineral tail providing lift and balance, making the wine fresher than its richness might suggest.
