This is a delightful wine to be enjoyed during the warmer months; though, there is nothing wrong with taking a mental vacation during the colder months in the comfort of your home planning your next summer holiday, or reminiscing about the one that’s just passed. Monte del Frà is particularly known for its Custoza; made under the Bianco di Custoza DOC. It is drinking now, and best enjoyed from 2024 to 2026, so do organise a couple of cases.

A taste of this wine and you will understand why it’s the kind of wine to be enjoyed on a summer terrace as scents of passionfruit, peach, almond, citrusy lemon and lime, and a hint of green apple fill the nose, followed by a finely balanced, crisp acidity, leaving you with a clean finish and the desire for another sip to relive the refreshing crisp and fruity quench.

Surrounded by the Moraine Hills of Lake Garda, Monte del Frà was first founded as a monastery by friars from Santa Maria Della Scala who made wine. In 1958, the Bonomo family opened a Venetian bulk wine shop, making wine and growing peaches, strawberries, and wheat. Later in 1988, the land was turned into vineyards establishing Monte del Frà.

  The name "Monte del Frà" refers to the estate’s location on a hill (Monte) near the historical "Frà," referencing the nearby Franciscan monastery that existed in the region during medieval times. Today, the estate remains family-owned and is managed by the second-generation brothers Eligio and Claudio, along with the third generation: Marica, Silvia, and Massimo.
