If you were to travel north and west of the actual “centre” of Sancerre, you would end up in the hamlet of La Chambre, part of the village of Sury-en-Vaux. Here, Noël and Jean-Luc Raimbault and their family have been producing Sauvignon Blanc since the early 1980s, making this a quintessential expression of Sancerre and the essence of the Loire Valley.
With its bright golden colour and aromas of citrus, pear, and white flowers, Noël et Jean-Luc’s Raimbault Sancerre wine offers an absolutely classic Sancerre, which we are really excited to list at Whitfield Wines. The 2022 has the classic fresh Sancerre style with copious amounts of minerality, green apple, white peach, and a touch of gunpowder (flint).
The Raimbault’s have a long history with wine and goat’s cheese production; however, it wasn’t until 1980 two brothers, Noël and Jean-Luc Raimbault, along with their respective wives, Claudine and Pascale, began the Raimbault Noël et Jean-Luc domaine, spreading their vineyards over Sury-en-Vaux, Verdigny, Bannay and Sancerre to continue the Raimbault family wine legacy into the future.
