This wine, steeped in noble heritage and rich Roman history, is crafted by the ancient Pallavicini family. To truly appreciate its uniqueness, one must explore the legacy behind it. Made from indigenous grapes like Malvasia Puntinata, Trebbiano, and Greco, it elegantly expresses the authentic character and aromatic finesse of its region. Remarkably, it offers exceptional value for a wine with such noble heritage and historical significance, making it a rare combination of quality, history, and affordability.
These indigenous grapes lend the wine a vibrant aromatic profile, featuring notes of white flowers, fresh citrus, and a hint of honey. Crisp and refreshing on the palate, it reveals ripe fruit flavours with subtle mineral undertones, finishing dry and clean for effortless enjoyment.
The Principe Pallavicini estate, owned by one of Italy’s oldest noble families, boasts a rich heritage rooted in the Lazio region since the 17th century. Located in the historic Castelli Romani area southeast of Rome, the winery is uniquely built atop a Roman cistern and aqueduct, where ancient artefacts are often uncovered. In 2016, under the leadership of Don Sigieri Diaz Pallavicini, the family launched a new production initiative emphasising native grape varieties like Malvasia Puntinata and Cesanese, blending tradition with modern winemaking.
