The Quinta da Boa Esperança "Devonshire Sparkling" Brut is a bespoke, crisp Portuguese sparkling wine custom-blended and bottled exclusively for The Devonshire in Soho, London. Sourced from the Lisboa region, it offers an elegant, dry, bready, and biscuity profile that serves as a highly characterful alternative to Prosecco.
Quinta da Boa Esperança can be found between the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra de Montejunto, in the Lisboa district of western Portugal. This is the country's most extensive wine-growing area.
The winery has been in production for over 100 years. The vineyards here range from 50-200m altitude, and the proximity of the Atlantic provides cool breezes during the hotter summer months. Soils are predominantly clay-limestone and rich in nutrients and grapes are hand harvested.
Sustainable farming practices are employed at Quinta da Boa Esperança, including water preservation methods, the promotion of biological diversity and the natural control of pests and diseases.
Produced by Artur Gamas near Ericeira in western Portugal, the Quinta da Boa Esperança estate is ideally located near the Atlantic Ocean.
This coastal proximity moderates the climate, creating perfect conditions for growing premium grapes. Established in 2014, the young winery quickly gained recognition for producing quality wines, blending indigenous Portuguese grape varieties with modern viticultural techniques.
