Domaine Germain's Saint-Romain Blanc 2023 is fresh, lively, and mineral in character, with floral notes and a distinct minerality derived from the limestone soil of the Domaine Germain plot.
The wine also displays the hallmark minerality and lime-tinted lemon notes typical of quality Saint-Romain whites. Saint Romain is perhaps the most beautiful spot in the Côte de Beaune and the wines have become more sought after in recent years as temperature changes in the area have made itan incredibly attractive area for ripening chardonnay.
Situated a few kilometres west of Meursault in an elevated and protected position, it now makes impressive wines with greater concentration than in the past.
The appellation was created in 1947 and has just 98 hectares under vine with the majority being white. Domaine Germain was created in 1955 and has 10ha in Saint Romain as well as a little Pommard and Beaune.
Arnaud Germain now leads this family. Their state-of-the-art winery, built in 2019 at the top of the village, enhances precision at harvest and in the cellar.
Spicy melon, orange, green apple, and cream flavours, with a soft nutty note and a long, creamy finish.
