This is a rather special white wine, highlighting the terroir and the potential of the Chardonnay grape to gain recognition in the Langhe region of Piedmont, an area better known for its iconic reds like Barolo and Barbaresco. The region’s proximity to the Alps and the influence of the Tanaro River contribute to the creation of wines with distinctive freshness and elegance.
The 2022 vintage benefited from a warm growing season, allowing the grapes to fully ripen and endowing the wine with hearty concentration. Vibrant aromas of ripe stone fruits, such as peaches and apricots, are beautifully complemented by the subtle minerality that reflects the region's unique terroir, striking a harmonious balance between fruitiness and acidity.
The Rocca family have long dedicated themselves to vineyard cultivation and winemaking, playing a pivotal role in preserving and enhancing the prestige of Langhe's viticulture. While the region is best known for its iconic reds like Barolo and Barbaresco, the Rocca family has championed the potential of Chardonnay, showcasing its unique expression in the Langhe. Their passion for the art of winemaking has been passed down through generations. In 1986, Gianni Rocca took the helm of the family winery, and in 2011, the legacy continues alongside his son Andrea, later joined by his daughter, Chiara.
