Diego Conterno’s Nebbiolo d’Alba hails from an organically farmed vineyard that sits just outside the border of the Barolo DOCG—and it lives up to the Conterno name with every single drop. Decanter called it a “baby Barolo,” and it’s a must for anyone who loves brisk, old-school reds, especially since it comes with an astounding under-£25 price tag. 

A useful tasting note: 'Pale garnet in the glass. Beautiful aromas of red cherry, strawberry, tar, fresh rose petals, and savoury herbs. The bright acidity refreshes the palate and integrates seamlessly with the silky tannins. It drinks beautifully with a slight chill and is extremely versatile at the table.'

A great restaurant wine as well, sitting comfortably on the list at Leroy and the Winemakers Club in London. 92 points in Decanter magazine.
