Domaine Bruno Sorg, Cremant d'Alsace NV
The quality of Cremant coming out of Alsace is just getting better and better, and this example is a great example. Cremant is the name for a group of sparkling wines that are made in France using the same methods as Champagne, including the second bottle fermentation process. There are eight different regions where the drink is made (featuring Loire & Burgundy but this one is from Alsace) and the list of rules that govern its production is nearly as strict as those of Champagne
Cremant comes with the slightly toasty overtones you'd hope for in a good Champagne. It's also extremely versatile as it drinks well as an aperitif or with food.
Produced by influential winemaker Domaine Bruno Sorg, this Cremant d’Alsace is just so perfect for those sparkling moments. Crafted from a delicate blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay in the north-eastern region of France, it is bottle-fermented and aged for eighteen months ‘sur latte’.
Offering depth and an exceptionally creamy texture, the result is complex on the nose with subtle hints of citrus and orchard fruits.
